American model Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19th, 1959. Her work on the screen as well as on stage have received praise over her entire three-decade career. Janney is the recipient of many awards. This includes an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as numerous others. In addition, she was awarded 7 Primetime Emmy Awards. Also, there were nominations of the two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston and was raised at Dayton (Ohio). She was awarded a scholarship to take classes at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney began her TV debut during 1999. She performed the role of C. J. Cregg in NBC's political program The West Wing from 1999-2006 in which she won four Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was honored with an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest actor in an Drama Series, after her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex. Janney has won two Outstanding Supporting Actress Awards for Comedy series and was recognized six times in the Primetime Emmy Awards.
